It is with great sorrow that we have received news of the sudden death of Sylvie Lambert. In her younger days she was one of the generation of pioneer researchers of interpreting. She did her PhD thesis under another pioneer, the psychologist David Gerver, and she was encouraged by her father Wallace Lambert of McGill University, an expert on bilingualism. In later years she devoted herself to her teaching and her students at the University of Ottawa, to her beautiful golden retriever therapy dogs, to her many other animals and to her friends. She will be sorely missed.
